French wines have traditionally been regarded as the best in the world, and have served as the models for others around the globe. The goal of the course is to provide the student with an in-depth understanding of the wines of France. Each region is examined with regard to history, geography, soil and climate, culture and growing practices. The wines of each area are accompanied by dishes which illustrate the most appropriate food pairings.
