Wine For Servers is a course designed to provide knowledge and self-confidence for staff members in restaurants, hotels and private clubs. While the curriculum varies from one facility to another, the goal is the same: to gain an appreciation of wines on the list, while learning how to handle real-life situations.
The tasting and wine knowledge segment of the course is customized according to the facility's wine list. Emphasis is placed on wines which complement the cuisine, as well as selections regarded as priorities by the ownership or management.
The hands-on portion of the course stresses basic service situations, such as:
Table approach and presence;
Selling and Upselling;
Correct wine service;
Handling difficult situations, customers or problems.
The elements of the course can be combined with regular staff training sessions.
